For the first time ever in the history of Federated Distributors, Inc. (FDI), it held its first major event entitled, Everyday Essentials Salebration, at the Robinsons Manila Midtown Atrium last October 28-29, 2022.

Known for its contribution to the delivery of quality, essential goods for 27 years and even throughout the pandemic, FDI’s Salebration gathered FDI’s principals and business partners, along with other key important figures in the food industry, in a toast to overcoming all odds to continuously serve our countrymen at the time it is needed the most. The event was open to everyone who wanted to join in the fun and engage with the different brand booth games for a chance to win exciting prizes.

Hosted by Ms. Jill Ngo, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Solar and FDI executives, namely Mr. Wilson Tieng, President and CEO of Solar Entertainment (3rd from right), Ms. Aida Tieng (4th from right), Mr. Jose “Pepe” Cheng, FDI General Manager (2nd from left), Ms. Jennie Uy, FDI Marketing Manager, and Ms. Sonya Tolentino, FDI Trade Marketing Manager.

After the grand opening celebration, event gates were opened and eager participants started to pour in to join the fun! Upon registration, each participant was handed an FDI Passport, bearing the brand logos of thirteen (13) major sponsors. Participants must play each brand booth game to earn passport stamps, plus a fresh chance to win exciting prizes after every challenge. Once completed, participants were asked to drop their accomplished passport stubs into the FDI Salebration tambiolo beside the stage and await their chance to win in the next raffle draw.

Aside from the brand booths, some of FDI’s biggest brands were able to organize on-stage activities where event visitors had the chance to join and win special prizes.

Hosted by no other than Food, Lifestyle and Travel TV host and well-known foodie, Kuya Tonipet Gaba, the FDI Salebration stage was filled with one game after another in between raffle draws. Event-goers were able to participate in onstage activities, such as Philadelphia’s Guess-the-Recipe Challenge, Tulip Jamonilla’s Longest Voice Contest, Palm Corned Beef’s Dance Freeze, Barilla Moms = Masters of Pasta Game, Maven Butter’s Cooking Demo, and Conagra brands’ Hep-Hep-Hooray challenge featuring Libby’s, Snack Pack, Hunt’s and Act II, among others.

A total of thirty (30) lucky participants won a basketful of FDI premium brands each worth Php5,000 in the scheduled raffle draws spread across the two-day event. Each winning entry was picked out by FDI executives from the onsite tambiolo and witnessed virtually by a DTI Representative.

The event successfully came to a close with nothing less than celebrity radio and TV host Sam YG taking over the stage to entertain guests and participants. Tropical Storm Paeng was up at Signal #3 in Metro Manila and there had been some power interruptions, but it didn’t stop the crowd from completing the challenges and tuning into the fun activities onstage, capped off by BIC’s Tiktok Dance Showdown.

At the end of the second day, as people took their victory selfies and the event venue started to close, we were faced with a new question – when will the next FDI SALEbration happen? Stay tuned to find out!☺
