Coming from the success of its first-ever Salebration event in October 2022, FDI Distributors, Inc. (FDI) held its second, and bigger, Everyday Essentials Salebration at the Glorietta Main Activity Center last February 3-4, 2024.

In light of FDI’s 28 years in the business, FDI highlighted its brands, which have been a part of Filipinos’ Everyday Essentials throughout the years; brands that have survived the ups and downs of life, from the toughest times, to life's sweetest and momentous celebrations. This event served as a testament to FDI’s strong business partnerships, and a gesture of appreciation to our brand principals for their full support to the Philippines. It also served as a thanksgiving to FDI’s loyal customers for their continued loyalty and patronage over the years.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by FDI and Solar executives and brand principals, namely (from right to left) Mr. Gustavo Palacio, Commercial Director of Oriental Coffee Alliance, Mr. Jose Cheng, FDI General Manager, Mr. Wilson Tieng, President and CEO of Solar Entertainment, Mr. Ronald Tieng, FDI Managing Director, Mr. Ken Saito, President and Managing Director of Otsuka-Solar Philippines, Inc., Mr. Shota Onodera, Country Manager of Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc. Manila Branch, and Mr. Kazuhiro Mizobata, Marketing and Operations Manager of Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc. Manila Branch.

The event started with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by the opening speech of FDI Managing Director, Mr. Ronald Tieng, to FDI’s esteemed guests, composed of its brand principals, business and industry partners, employees and important figures in the food industry.

Cocktails were served and all sixteen (16) booths opened, together with the shopping area, opening a vast array of games, prizes and products to shop and choose from at the Salebration.

The travel-themed Salebration featured four major continents – Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania – grouping the Brands produced in each continent, and exclusively brought home to the Philippines by FDI.

After the VIP ceremony, gates were opened for the public audience to join the fun! Upon purchase of minimum Php100 worth of FDI products, each participant was given an FDI passport with the brand logos of sixteen (16) major sponsors. Participants must play each of the sixteen (16) brand booth activities for a chance to win exciting booth prizes, and a stamp to fill in the passport. Once all 16 stamps were complete, participants were asked to drop their accomplished passport stubs into the FDI Salebration tambiolo beside the stage, and await their chance to win in the next raffle draw.

Participants were in for a surprise treat, with onstage games hosted by none other than Food, Lifestyle, and Travel TV host and well-known foodie, Kuya Tonipet Gaba! Among the games featured onstage were Philadelphia's Guess-the-Dish Challenge, Tulip Jamonilla's Longest Voice Contest, Palm Corned Beef's Newspaper Dance, Conagra Brands' Hep-Hep-Hooray, and Barilla's Pasta Relay.

Twenty-one (21) lucky participants won an FDI Salebration luggage, filled with premium brands worth Php2,500 each in the 2-day raffle draws. Each winning entry was picked out by Mr. Jazzcer Macabanti, FDI Brand Officer, from the onsite tambiolo and virtually witnessed by a DTI Representative.

One of the highlights of the event was the appearance of Barilla Philippines Brand Ambassador, actor, and entrepreneur, Mr. Matteo Guidicelli, who sang a sweet serenade to the crowd and played a Barilla booth game in the midst of a short interview with the host, Ms. Jill Ngo.

With the biggest discounts and unbeatable prices offered at the two-day SALEbration, people filled their baskets with everyday essentials exclusively distributed by FDI.

At the end of the Salebration, many participants asked the question – when will the next FDI Everyday Essentials Salebration happen again?
